Safe & Sound Dorset - Summer 2024

I recently had the pleasure of leading a self-defense training session for the incredible women of the Safe and Sound project. It was an absolute joy to share my knowledge on a subject I’ve been passionate about since 1995. Although I’ve been teaching physical intervention and conflict management for many years, this experience was particularly special because I had the chance to help these wonderful women gain a bit more confidence in their daily lives. I was thrilled to offer them some advice and practical tips.

Thank you, ladies, for inviting me, I'd be more than happy to return anytime!

Helping combat Knife crime

I had the absolute please of sitting down and engaging with the local community ant the very busy Jessica Toale for Bournemouth West discussing crime and anti social behavior and what needs to be done to improve our neighborhoods .

We all know how bad this issue is, but we all have a different perception of what is most important and the only way you can do that is to sit with the community and hear what they have to say. I was truly humbled by the amount of questions asked to me along with my thought son how and what we can and should do to start to make a positive change.

A Mentoring Mindset

Two decades ago, I embarked on a journey in the security industry, providing training that extended far beyond the technical aspects. In every role since then—whether in business, boxing, life coaching, or alternative education—I've embraced the mantle of mentorship. With an unwavering "yes you can" attitude, I've witnessed firsthand how our mindset shapes our path to success, tailored to each individual's aspirations,
those who know me know how true a statement this is.

Now, I'm eager to extend this conversation to those who recognize the transformative power of mentoring or whom are intrigued and want to know more, whether you’re seeking personal growth, looking to support your children’s journey, or aiming to enhance your business acumen, mentoring offers individual benefits.

I have invited you to join me in exploring the profound impact of a mentoring mindset. let’s delve into how guidance, encouragement and belief in oneself can result in remarkable achievements.

My commitment to community betterment fuels my passion for this dialogue.

On April 24th, I Invite you to gather with me and three quest speakers each with their own inspiring stories of how mentoring has shaped their lives.

Together lets pave the way for growth, empowerment and lasting change. Join the conversation and lets make a difference together.

The evening will be held at Running free in Ashley cross.

Educating to help Knife crime

I extend my gratitude to the Bournemouth Echo for spotlighting my insights on addressing the pressing and rapidly escalating issue of knife crime within our community. Recently, during an event I hosted, I was approached to share strategies for tackling this pervasive challenge. With three decades immersed in the security industry, I've encountered, witnessed, and even faced threats involving knives.

As my professional journey has transitioned from security training to boxing coaching and now into the realm of alternative education mentoring, I've come to appreciate the profound impact of mentorship and positive role modeling. Now, more than ever, our youth require strong, supportive figures in their lives.

My career affords me daily interactions with individuals in need of guidance and mentorship. I advocate for proactive approaches over reactive measures. While punishment and legal repercussions are essential deterrents, true change emerges from proactive intervention. It's crucial to recognise that not every young person carrying a weapon is inherently bad. While it's unacceptable to possess blades or offensive weapons, we must implement comprehensive support systems and education initiatives tailored to resonate with them.

I've witnessed firsthand the transformative power of investing time and effort into individuals who may have been dismissed or overlooked. While I don't purport to single-handedly eradicate all crime or revolutionise society, I firmly believe in my capacity to effect positive change. If my efforts can alter the mindset of even one person for the better, it could mean saving a life.

Once again, my appreciation to the Bournemouth Echo for amplifying this message. Perhaps, just perhaps, someone will find solace or inspiration within these words.

'Mindset Achieves Sucess' London calling

Delighted to share that I had the honor of delivering a speech at the esteemed Caladonian Club on March 20th. Situated in the heart of Belgravia, London, this exclusive private members club provided a distinguished setting for the talk. It was truly an exhilarating experience, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity.

Engaging with a new crowd in this prestigious venue allowed me to share my utmost passion with fresh minds. It was immensely rewarding to connect with individuals who share a curiosity for the topics close to my heart. That provided insightful conversations. The event provided a platform for enriching dialogue and meaningful connections.
